The Two Gods

$250pp

Duration: 1 Day

Between the tides, plants and animals each occupy distinct bands like the forest zones between sea level and the bush-line. Our guides make these environments come alive.

This is a fantastic kayak and walk combo in the middle section of the park.  We have tailored our start and finish kayaking points around the tide timetable, it means on any given departure we offer the best part of the park to explore the marine reserve to the fullest. Explore the realm of Tangaroa, God of the sea and feel the presence of Tane Mahuta, God of the forest on this trip.

Start Awaroa/Finish Bark Bay

Kayaking out from Awaroa allows us to visit Shag Harbour*, a hidden inlet like nowhere else in the Abel Tasman. We then paddle south exploring the coastline at the top of the Marine Reserve before heading into Onetahtui. Enjoy lunch at Onetahuti before spending the afternoon walking the Abel Tasman Great Walk Coastal track exploring between Onetahuti and Bark Bay. Highlights of this section include Tonga Quarry and the Bark Bay Estuary and the Kaka population.

Start Onetahuti/Finish Anchorage

Heading out from Onetahuti via Tonga Island you will have time to enjoy the seals on Tonga Island, Tonga Arches, and tranquil lagoons in the heart of the park. Enjoy lunch at Bark Bay before spending the afternoon walking the Abel Tasman Great Walk Coastal track exploring between Bark Bay and Anchorage. Highlights of this section include the Kaka population, Falls River suspension bridge and the Torrent Bay lagoon.

Paddling is our business, with all activities supported from our purpose-built kayak base, free hot showers, free wifi, free equipment storage & client transporters, and our custom built water taxis. We also provide high-quality soft gear - fitted for each client by our guides and high-quality hard gear – customised for comfort for each client.

On this trip covering you have a professional guide with you for around 4 hours sharing their knowledge and passion of the Abel Tasman. We also cater a snack and lunch designed around your health and energy.

Every trip is unique like each of our clients.
