Taste the Two

This amazing 6-day, Cycle/Kayak adventure, takes you along the most recently completed stages of Tasman's Great Taste Trail. Take a break after two days of cycling and experience two days of pure magic in the world-famous Abel Tasman National Park.
An outline of the trip is below, but for a full trip description read here. This trip is such a great way to see and experience the Nelson/Region.
Day 1 - Nelson City to Mapua - Distance: 32kms
Day 2 - Mapua to Kaiteriteri - Distance: 41kms
Day 3: Two Day Classic, Abel Tasman National Park
Day 4: Two Day Classic, Abel Tasman National Park
Day 5 - Kaiteriteri – Kohatu – Wakefield Distance: 55kms
Day 6 - Wakefield to Nelson: Distance: 32kms
This package includes:
- Cycle equipment which includes trail comfort bike, helmet, repair kit, panniers, odometer and trail documentation
- Accommodation – x 5 nights – including all breakfasts
- Abel Tasman Kayaks – Two Day Classic tour – fully catered
- Luggage transfers between accommodations (1 bag per person – limit 15kgs per bag)
- Winery or Café Lunch on Day 4

Source to Sea, the ultimate way to discover the best of Abel Tasman. Water Taxi, canyoning, BBQ, glamping, walking and sea kayaking!
On day one meet your friendly canyoning guides and get geared up and briefed on how the tour is going to run. Then catch the Water Taxi into Anchorage where you start off with a short walk to the canyon get in point.Torrent River canyon is our most popular adventure simply because it has it all. Jumps, slides, floats, abseils, ziplines, you name it.... Torrent’s got it. All this exciting stuff takes place in a gorgeous granite canyon filled with some of the purest water and untouched rain forest. You finish the canyon journey at beautiful Cleopatras Pool followed by a short walk back to Anchorage. Lunch, snacks, drinks and photos are included.
Spend the night at Anchorage glamping, relax while your guide delights you with stories of the region and prepares your evening meal. Enjoy sleeping amongst the natural surroundings and be woken by the beautiful dawn chorus it's magic at Anchorage.
On day two start with a leisurely breakfast then it's your choice (relax on the beach, walk the beautiful Pitt head loop or go for a swim). Leave Anchorage by 10.30 to walk to Observation Beach where you will meet your sea kayak guide at 12.30 for lunch.
After lunch you will have a quick kayak briefing then start your afternoon paddling adventure back to Marahau. On the way paddle past beautiful Adele Island, there you can listen to the magical birdsong and try to spot the cheeky fur seals basking on the rocks. Then take time to explore the glistening golden sand beaches of the famous Astrolabe Roadstead. As the sea breeze builds finish off with an exciting kayak sail back into Marahau to finish your two day adventure.
Paddling is our business, with all activities supported by our purpose-built kayak base, free hot showers, free wifi, free equipment storage & client transporters. We also provide high-quality soft gear - fitted for each client by our guides and high-quality hard gear – customised for comfort for each client.
On this trip covering the Astrolabe coastline you have a professional guide with you for around 4 hours sharing their knowledge and passion of the Abel Tasman. We also cater a snack and lunch designed around your health and energy made onsite by our container cafe.
We are normally able to secure space at canyoning and Aquapackers but please note at peak times this may not be possible, when booking your reservation will be unconfirmed until we can secure space.
Kayak & Sailing
Kayak, Stroll, Seals & sail - packed into a one day adventure!

Embark on your guided kayak adventure from Marahau to Watering Cove. You will catch glimpses of the coastal track and experience up close the magic of the Astrolabe Islands. Once finished, swap your paddle for walking shoes and stroll over the Anchorage hill, taking in amazing views. Join the catamaran at Anchorage by 1:30pm and check out the Fur Seal colony at Pinnacle Island before an exhilarating sail back down the coast via Split Apple Rock, to Kaiteriteri.
